Wright is the 2010 nominee from Region 7 — a group of 106 Northeast Texas school districts. He has served as superintendent at Hallsville ISD since 2003. Since his arrival, the district went from an acceptable state academic rating to exemplary this year. Wright worked for several school districts before returning to Hallsville. He worked in Tyler-Chapel Hill and Hawkins as a high school principal and in Tyler ISD as an assistant high school principal. He's also served as a teacher and coach in various school districts. "I was a teacher and coach here from 1991 to 1995, and when I left I told myself that if I could ever get back to this wonderful school district and community as an administrator, I would come and raise my children here.
