We're excited to announce Texas Education Agency Deputy Commissioner of Finance Kara Belew will be joining us as a special guest speaker at the 16th Annual Seminar on School Finance and Legal Issues on Thursday, July 21, 2016.

As the Deputy Commissioner, Belew is responsible for overseeing three key divisions within the TEA: the Permanent School Fund; School Finance; and Agency Finance. Ms. Belew previously served as the Statewide Budget Director for Governor Abbott. During her tenure, she helped to pass legislation creating the Governor's high quality prekindergarten and University Research Initiative programs. In addition, she formerly served as Governor Rick Perry's Director of Financial Accountability and Senior Education Advisor.
