The Equity Center is excited to announce Josh Sanderson will be joining our team in September as the new Associate Deputy Director.

Josh brings with him over 15 years of experience working with policymakers at the state, local, and federal levels, in addition to working on various local and statewide campaigns and advocacy projects.

He began his career in the Texas Senate working for Senator David Bernsen before moving to the Texas House of Representatives to be the legislative director for State Representative Dan Ellis, where he worked largely on state budget issues. In 2005, Josh became the legislative director for the Chairman of the House Economic Development Committee, Representative Allan Ritter, concentrating on budget and tax policy, including school finance during the 2005 and 2006 sessions. For the past ten years he has represented the Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE) on school finance, retirement, and healthcare issues and sits on the Texans for Secure Retirement Board of Trustees.

Josh has two daughters, both who attend public schools in Leander ISD.
