Boyd ISD hires two administrators
New Boyd ISD Superintendent Tamara Vardy has started forming her administrative team. Before the Christmas Break on Dec. 16, Boyd ISD trustees approved her recommendation to hire Chris Chappotin as the assistant superintendent and Christine Magryta as the director of instructional technology.
“They will help build up on the great things here in Boyd and as we work to make it an elite district where students are college, career, military and life ready,” Vardy said. “I’m so excited for Jan. 6 to get here. I got to meet some of the staff. But I’m ready to get to see them and community members.”
Chappotin was a principal at Burleson ISD’s STEAM Middle School for the past year. Before that he was the academic associate principal at Centennial High School.
“He’s worked at all three levels, elementary, middle school and high school,” Vardy said.
She said Chappotin will oversee operations and also help with curriculum.
Magryta was the assistant principal at Keller Central.
Vardy said the district will be looking to hire a chief financial officer. Longtime business manager Linda Ratliff is retiring.
“Right now there are 15 to 17 financial official openings. We are going to wait until there are more applicants,” Vardy said. “We want to get the right person that’s the right fit.”
