Visitation for Wanda Lee (Smithhart) Puckett, 69, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be at Gann Cemetery.  Mrs. Puckett was born March 30, 1957 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Ada Lee (Goodman) and James Smithhart, Jr., and died Sunday, August 16, 2026 in a Conroe hospital. She worked as the Superintendent’s secretary at Central ISD for 20 years.  Mrs. Puckett always had the purest of hearts and was the eternal optimist. She loved her family and friends with every ounce of her being, and there was not a single thing that she wouldn’t do for them. She was loyal, sometimes to a fault, for always looking for the good in everyone. Her husband, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren consumed her life, and she loved it.
