The Board of Education for Morton Independent School District proudly announces Mr. Mario Aguirre as the new Superintendent of Schools. This action was taken at a board meeting after the state-mandated 21-day waiting period was met. Mr. Aguirre was then officially hired as Superintendent.  Mr. Aguirre has 11 years of experience in Texas public schools and is currently the High School Principal of Slaton ISD, having served in that role since 2021.  Mr. Aguirre has done an outstanding job in his current role and comes very highly recommended. He is a former Fine Arts Director with stints in Loop, Lamesa, and Slaton.  He and his wife Angelica have 1 child, Khloe, currently a ninth grader at Slaton ISD .  Angelica is currently the Technology Director for Morton ISD.  Mario and his family are looking forward to making Morton ISD - and the Morton community their new home.
