Region 17 announces the new superintendent at Slaton ISD:

The Board of Education for Slaton ISD proudly announces Mr. Jim Andrus as the new Superintendent of Schools. This action was taken at a board meeting after the state mandated 21 day waiting period was met. Mr. Andrus was then officially hired as Superintendent of Slaton ISD. Mr. Andrus currently is the Assistant Superintendent in charge of Instuction for Slaton ISD and has served in that capacity since 2018. Prior to 2018, Mr. Andrus also served as principal of Slaton Junior High. He also served as assistant principal at Cavazos Middle School, principal of Preston Smith Elementary, assistant principal at JT Hutchinson Junior High and director of secondary program for advancement, all in Lubbock.
