Walnut Bend ISD Names “Lone Finalist”
The Walnut Bend ISD Board of Trustees met in Special Session on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 to name a “Lone Finalist” for the vacant position of Superintendent. The Board voted unanimously to name Mr. Ken Kemp as the “Lone Finalist”. There is a twenty- one-day waiting period before Mr. Kemp can be officially named as Superintendent of Walnut Bend ISD.
Mr. Kemp is currently the Director of Technology, Operations, and Transportation for the Collinsville ISD. Previously he has served Collinsville as Elementary Principal and as Interim High School Principal. Before moving to Collinsville ISD Mr. Kemp worked as a teacher, coach, and technology director at Callisburg ISD. He has also served at a professor at NCTC for many years. He has over 25 years of experience as a professional educator with19 years in an administrative role.
Mr. Kemp brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Walnut Bend ISD. The board is excited for Mr. Kemp to begin his tenure with the district. He will begin officially on June 1, 2021, but will be spending several days during May working with the staff to ensure a smooth transition.
