On Tuesday, former Northside ISD school board trustee Ray Lopez won the special election runoff in Texas House District 125 in San Antonio. We were proud to endorse Ray, and Texas Parent PAC was among his top 15 largest contributors for the runoff. Thank you, donors!

Unofficial results from the election are: Democrat Ray Lopez–5,311 votes (58.42%); Republican Fred Rangel–3,780 votes (41.57%). Ray's wide-ranging leadership experiences include service on the San Antonio City Council, Northside ISD Board of Trustees, Region 20 Education Service Center Board, and various other community groups. He is well-prepared for his new position in the Texas House of Representatives. Onward!

Unfortunately, Melissa Noriega did not win her special election runoff for HD 145 in Harris County. Melissa and her team ran a great campaign. She will continue to work for children and public schools in other ways. Thank you, Melissa, for the courage to run and your self-sacrifice involved in a high-pressure special election.
