An Onalaska Elementary School employee was arrested and booked into the Angelina County Jail Tuesday on charges including possession or promotion of child pornography and assault causing bodily injury, according to jail records and a statement from the school district.  The employee, Jerry Michael Cobb, was booked March 3 at the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office. Records show the charges were issued out of Polk County.  In a statement released Wednesday, Onalaska Independent School District Superintendent Kenneth Fraga said the district was notified of the arrest by law enforcement. view article arw

The Pearland High School teacher is under police investigation for alleged inappropriate behavior with a student.  Police are investigating the allegations.  “The Pearland Police Department is aware of the recent allegations involving a teacher at Pearland High School,” the department stated in a news release. “We are currently conducting an investigation to determine whether a criminal offense has occurred. Houston ISD's state-appointed Superintendent Mike Miles has promoted the district's chief of academics to a new role titled "deputy superintendent."   In the newly created position, Kristen Hole will oversee both the academics and schools offices at HISD, effective Tuesday. South San and the nonprofit recently entered into a partnership to fill district vacancies for the 2026-27 school year. Three staff members at Alice W. Douse Elementary School were removed from campus after a physical altercation in front of students during dismissal, according to Killeen ISD. In a letter to parents, school officials said the incident happened during dismissal and involved three staff members. The message gained widespread attention when it was shared online.   A Texas State University lecturer is no longer teaching at the university after a doctor publicly shared an expletive-filled Facebook message in which an account with his name and picture told her he hoped she would be deported.   The doctor said she received the message via Facebook Messenger and posted screenshots publicly earlier this week, drawing widespread attention online. A teacher from Aldine ISD is accused of hitting a student during a fight at G.W. Carver High School in January, according to court documents. Court documents obtained by Eyewitness News say Jacenta Green was seen on campus surveillance filming a student as she walked toward the cafeteria. An Athens ISD teacher accused of having marijuana and a weapon on campus property was arrested Monday. Broderick Omar Hopkins, 47, a teacher at Athens ISD, was booked into the Henderson County Jail on Monday for charges of possession of marijuana, possession of dangerous drugs and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
