An elementary teacher in Allen Independent School District has been charged with multiple child sex crimes involving students. Austin Douglas White, 29, was indicted on four counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, a second-degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison. White taught at Preston Elementary School. In October 2024, Allen ISD notified families that White had “potentially engaged in inappropriate communication/conduct with a student” at Curtis Middle School.

DIBOLL — The Diboll ISD board of trustees unanimously approved an update to its compensation plan, including faculty and staff raises, during its regular June meeting Monday in the cafeteria of the H.G. Temple Elementary/Intermediate School campus. First-year teachers will receive a base salary of $50,000, with $500 increases after each of one and two years. Teachers with three or four years of experience will receive a $4,000 raise, and teachers with five or more years will receive an $8,000 raise. Board president Jay Wyatt called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m., followed by the pledges of allegiance.

Head coach and athletic director Andrew Harvey was arrested by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday. He’s charged with online solicitation of a minor sexual conduct, sale/distribution/display of harmful material to a minor and solicitation of prostitution person under 18. Howe ISD said in a release to parents that Harvey was placed on administrative leave immediately after they were notified of the charges, and he is not permitted on district property, nor is he allowed to have contact with students or faculty at this time.

Harry Monroe has been an educator for 51 years. He spent 33 of those with the Dallas Independent School District. Now, he's leaving for health reasons. The Comal Independent School District board of trustees approved pay increases for all teachers and staff members on Thursday, according to a news release. According to the arrest affidavit from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, on May 28 officers were alerted about an improper relationship between an educator and student that involved a Winnsboro High School coach during the 2024-2025 school season.

TATUM, Texas (KETK) – Tatum ISD is in mourning this week after announcing that one of their 8th-grade teachers died on Tuesday. Cherokee County grieves passing of retired sheriff LeKeitha Biggs was an 8th-grade teacher who had been working for Tatum ISD since 2015. Houston ISD has less than two months to try and fill more than 350 teacher vacancies across the district. According to the district's calendar, classes begin Aug. 12, and the district has three job fairs between now and then where it will attempt to fill the 358 current teacher vacancies listed for the 2025-26 school year. Former Elgin ISD basketball coach accused of having pornographic images of minor appears in court
A man facing charges of improper relationship between an educator and a student and possession of child pornography was in the 124th District Court on Tuesday for a status hearing. Devin Ryan Anderson, 26, of Manor, was indicted in February. He was a coach at Elgin ISD. He is accused of having an improper relationship with a student while working for the district. On Tuesday at the Gregg County Courthouse, attorneys speaking to Judge Alfonso Charles stated they believe the victim’s phone may contain evidence pertinent to the case.

North East ISD trustees use HB 2 to give San Antonio teachers raises, shrink deficit
Trustees for the North East Independent School District approved a compensation package Monday that largely aligns with the new school funding law House Bill 2.
The law gives districts a relatively robust allotment to boost the salaries of experienced classroom teachers, and a smaller allotment for support staff. NEISD leaders told trustees the law's targeted funding limits their ability to give raises to other employees, including counselors, nurses, and librarians.

Hillary Williams was a Wells ISD math teacher until her first arrest in February. An East Texas teacher arrested earlier this year for bestiality and possessing child pornography is facing a new charge of sexually touching a child. Hillary Danielle Williams, 34, was arrested Tuesday and charged with indecency with a child by sexual contact, a second-degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison. Williams is accused of touching a young child inappropriately on February 19. The child made an outcry about the contact in April and also told police Williams was practicing witchcraft. Williams was teaching in Wells Independent School District at the time of the alleged incident but had been allowed to resign on February 24 following her earlier arrest.

Boerne Middle School North Principal Daniel Owen resigned Wednesday, following his arrest last week for driving while intoxicated, according to school officials.
A letter from Superintendent Dr. Kristin Craft addressed to "BMSN families and staff" told of Owen's resignation after he'd been placed on paid administrative leave Monday.
"Under Mr. Owen's guidance, BMSN has continued to excel academically and foster a supportive, student-centered environment," Craft wrote. "His commitment to excellence and to building a strong campus culture has been evident in the success of our students and staff."

Tye Britton Rexrode, 39, was an assistant baseball coach and social studies teacher for two years at the high school in Comfort Independent School District. He was allowed to resign in February 2024 following allegations of sexual misconduct. Wood County investigators say that a former teacher and coach of Winnsboro ISD has been arrested for having an improper relationship with a student. Nicholas Gabriele was employed as an assistant football coach and economics teacher at Winnsboro High School during the 2024-25 school year. Sometime during the school year, he began a relationship with a high school student. Investigators got information and evidence that Gabriele had been having sex with the student, including information and concerns from members of the community.
