Our latest Equity Center video features Rick Gray, lead attorney for the Texas Taxpayer & Student Fairness Coalition, and our own Dr. Wayne Pierce, who served as the equity expert in the recent Texas Taxpayer & Student Fairness Coalition, et al. litigation.

Viewers will gain insight on the recent Supreme Court ruling, discover what remains at stake for our children and taxpayers, and learn what we might expect in the upcoming 2017 Legislative Session. The video is an excellent tool to help you, your staff, school board, and community better understand the current state of our school finance system.

Despite the Supreme Court declaring the system constitutional, the record clearly shows our system is still inequitable and inadequate. While the Supreme Court chose not to act, opting instead to only caution legislators about the faults in our system, we must make every effort to better educate ourselves and our communities. As it currently stands, a legislative fix is only avenue we have to finally right the inequities in our system. To successfully do this, we will need your help.

The purpose of this video is to give you a tool to help educate as many people as you can about the lawsuit, our public school finance system, and the challenges we may face in the upcoming legislative session. We encourage you to watch the video below so you can learn more, share it widely with others, send us your thoughts or comments, and ask questions when you have them. You can watch the full video by clicking on the image below.
