Secretary Hughs To Announce Statewide Voter Education Initiative
AUSTIN – Texas Secretary of State Ruth Hughs will hold a press conference announcing the beginning of a statewide voter education initiative for the 2020 elections at the James Earl Rudder Building in Austin.
The purpose of the initiative is to educate Texas voters regarding the State’s voter identification requirements, including the approved forms of photo ID and the steps for voters to take if they do not possess and cannot reasonably obtain one of these forms. In its 2019 legislative session, the Texas Legislature appropriated funding to the Secretary of State’s office to conduct the initiative.
